Craggy Range ‘Te Muna Road Vineyard’ Martinborough Pinot Noir 2005

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 22-Mar-2013
Very full, dark, deep garnet colour with black hues. The bouquet is full, open and voluminous, and packed with deep aromas of savoury dark berry fruits along with dried herb and stalk-stem notes, forest-floor and toasty elements. This is becoming complex with its secondary characters. A very fulsome wine with strong palate presence and some alcohol drive, sweet and complex interwoven flavours of savoury red and black fruits show with succulence and generosity. Game, meat and dried herbal detail merge with stalk flavours. The tannins are open and rounded, but provide mouthfilling structure, and carry a toasty oak and dark herb amalgam to the solid, rich finish. This shows the fullness from the small crop size, a result of millerandage and the warm and humid growing season. This will offer complex drinking over the next 4-5+ years. 19.0-/20 Mar 2013
