Craggy Range ‘Te Muna Road Vineyard’ Martinborough Pinot Noir 2004

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 22-Mar-2013
Dark ruby-red with orange and brick hues to the colour. The aromatics are clearly in the secondary and tertiary phase with forest-floor, bramble, mushroom, game and meat aromas, as well as herb and stalk notes. This has good volume on bouquet. Similarly, the palate has structure and good depth framing the complex maturity flavours of bramble, mushrooms and savoury herbs. Some lifted oak shows through. The palate shows excellent concentration and extraction and the tannins carry through to a lingering finish with acid-tinged herb and game notes. Drinking now and over the next 3-4 years. This is a remarkably strong wine for the cool, wet vintage. 18.0+/20 Mar 2013
