Craggy Range ‘Te Muna Road Vineyard’ Martinborough Pinot Noir 2003

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 22-Mar-2013
Very dark, deep, black-red colour with brick on edge. This has a powerful, concentrated and packed nose with savoury dark red and black fruits seamlessly intermixed with game, cooked meats, forest floor and dried herbs. This is very developed with complex secondary and tertiary characters. Full-bodied, the palate is warm and broad with generous and complex flavours of cooked red fruits, meat, liquorice and brown spices. There is richness, sweetness and plenty of texture and structure underlining the flavours, along with acid lift. The win finished with density and length, showing broth, herb, game and smoke complexities. Fully-developed in a full and rounded expression, this should be drunk over the next 2-3 years. This shows the warm vintage and concentration from low yields and small berries. 19.0-/20 Mar 2013
