Very dark, saturated, black-hued purple-red colour, very youthful in appearance. This has a beautifully precise, refined and fragrant nose with rich and ripe aromas of black berried fruits melded with violet and black-red florals, along with black pepper, Asian spices and liquorice. The aromatics are deep and intense, possessing elegance, clarity and purity. Medium-full bodied, the palate is tight and elegantly concentrated with rich, vibrant and lusciously ripe fruit flavours of blackberries lifted by violet florals, and black pepper notes. The fruit is supported by considerable extraction and structure, the tannins very fine-grained. The fruit succulence and balanced acidity provides freshness, vitality and energy, and the wine has great linearity. The wine carries to a very long and sustained finish of black berries, pepper, ink and spices, along with floral and mineral nuances. This is a beautifully vibrant, rich and succulent Syrah of aromatic finesse, and considerable structure.
