Craggy Range ‘Avery Vineyard’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Feb-2011
Fruit from Richard and Linda Avery's stony soiled vineyard on the old Omaka River bed in the Wairau Valley has consistently yielded a refined style of Sauvignon Blanc. Bright, pale straw-yellow in colour, this has a very elegant, tight and finely expressed bouquet of lime fruit, acacia blossom and minerals. Though carrying 13.8% alc., this dry wine with 2.2 g/L rs is one of finesse and relative subtlety, showing delicately rich, floral blossom and sweet herb flavours, softly crisp acidity and fine, flowing finish. Cool-fermented in stainless-steel tanks by inoculated yeasts. Drink over the next 3-4 years with shellfish and poultry dishes. 18.0+/20 Jan 2011 RRP $19.95
