Coto de Hayas ‘Roble’ Campo de Borja Joven 2015

Blended Red from Spain
Review Date : 08-Aug-2016
Full, even, dark ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is elegant and fresh with bright, fragrant, primary aromas of dark cherry, raspberry and redcurrant fruit, unfolding notes of confectionary-like whole berry fermentation. Medium bodied, the palate features juicy and succulent, aromatic, primary fruit flavours of dark red cherries with raspberry liqueur and redcurrants, alongside whole berry confectionary and jammy suggestion. The fruit is underlined by fine-grained, supple tannins and fresh acidity lends a degree of linearity. The wine leads to a long, lingering finish of sweet cherry fruit. This is a stylishly reserved, fruity Campo de Borja Joven with aromatic cherry and confectionary flavours and supple tannins. Serve with pasta, charcuterie and antipasto over the next 3 years. From Bodegas Aragonesas. A blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon, vines aged 25 y.o. and 20 y.o. respectively, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 4 months in American oak barrels. 17.0+/20 Aug 2016 RRP $22.99
