Coto de Hayas Campo de Borja Crianza 2009

Grenache from Spain
Review Date : 14-Jun-2012
60% Garnacha and 40% Tempranillo, the vines over 30 y.o. and 20 y.o. respectively, fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 9 months in American oak. Dark ruby-red colour, this is beautifully presented on bouquet with refined, fragrant, ripe red berry fruits with the oak in excellent, restrained support. Ripe, dark plum and berry fruit flavours with notes of liquorice and spices, this builds with intensity. The tannins are very fine-grained, and the balance of the wine quite startling. This has freshness and finesse, and will keep 6-8+ years.  18.5-/20  Jun 2012  RRP $19.90
