Corofin ‘Cowley Family Vineyard – Main Slopes’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 06-May-2015
Dark, deep, ruby-red colour with slight garnet hues on rim. This has a full, softly lifted and voluminous nose of ripe red berry fruits entwined with red and violet florals that blossom, unfolding ethereal perfumes and hints of spice. Medium-bodied and elegant in proportion, succulently sweet, aromatically ripe red berry fruits feature on the palate. The flavours are lifted by plum and floral notes. This flows smoothly, the palate guided by supple, fine-grained tannins. A refined, subtly concentrated core carries the wine to a long, attractively aromatic finish. This is a beautifully elegant and supple Pinot Noir with sweetness and fragrance. Match with fine Asian fare over the next 5-6+ years. Dijon clone fruit from the ‘Cowley Family’ vineyard, Ben Morven, indigenous yeast fermented with approximately 30% whole clusters to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 2-3 y.o. seasoned French oak. 18.0+/20 May 2015 RRP $45.00
