Cormack & Co Margaret River Cabernet/Merlot 2013

Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia - Western Australia
Review Date : 04-Jun-2014
85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot from the Karridale district, Margaret River, fermented to 13.5% alc., a portion of the blend aged in French Oak. Full, near impenetrable black-red colour with lighter purple hues on edge. The nose is softly concentrated with a deep, fruit focussed core of blackcurrants along with mineral, plum and cassis aromas, revealing some stalk, mint and eucalypt elements. Medium-full bodied, the palate features a softly packed core of blackcurrant and plum fruit flavours. The mouthfeel is fulsome and rounded, quite up-front, unfolding mint, herbs and cassis elements. Grainy tannins and fresh acidity support the fruit depth, with the flavours receding to a light finish. This is a fulsome, up-front and softly packed Cabernet/Merlot blend with blackcurrant and cassis flavours. Serve with roasted lamb and beef over the next 4 years. 17.0-/20 Jun 2014 RRP $21.99
