Corbans ‘1902’ Gisborne Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 21-Mar-2017
Bright straw-yellow colour with a suggestion of blush, showing some depth, lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh with well-packed, gentle aromas of apricots and yellow stonefruits along with subtle notes of yellow florals and nuts forming a softly concentrated core. Medium-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate sweetly rich flavours of yellow stonefruits with subtle notes of honeysuckle, yellow floral elements and nutty elements. The palate is smooth-flowing with a light, guiding, fine-textured line and lacy acid freshness providing energy. The wine carries to a lingering dry finish with light grip and stonefruit flavours. This is a gently rich, medium-dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit and honeysuckle flavours on a fine-textured, smooth-flowing line. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern fare over the next 3 years. Gisborne fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 6.8 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 17.5-/20 Mar 2017 RRP $19.99
