Coopers Creek ‘Select Vineyards – The Pointer’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2009

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Feb-2011
Fruit from two mature vineyards, one in Omaka, the other Brancott, fermented in stainless-steel and old oak to 13.5% alc. and 7.5 g/L rs, then given lees contact. Bright straw-yellow in colour, pale and youthful in appearance, this has a bouquet of ripe pears, apricots and stonefruits along with nuances of savoury, wild honey. Dryish on palate, this is a medium-weight wine with gently full flavours of sweet tropical fruits, pear drops and honey, all very open and accessible. The softness and lowish acidity will easy drinking with all contemporary Asian cuisine over the next 2-3+ years. 17.0-/20 Feb 2011 RRP $21.00
