Coopers Creek ‘Select Vineyards – Bell Ringer’ Gisborne Albarino 2015

Other White from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 21-Feb-2016
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, very pale on the rim. The nose is softly full with gentle, but deeply packed aromas of white florals and white stonefruits, entwined with flinty lees and nuances of herb and mineral complexities. The aromatics have purity of expression and real presence and volume. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the mouthfeel is softly fresh with a gentle liveliness. The fruit is bright and harmoniously layered with white florals, white stonefruits and flinty elements. The fruit has weight and is mouthfilling, and underlined by a fine thread of phenolics. The acidity is integrated and the wine flows to a dry, grainy, flinty and minerally finish. This is a harmoniously layered white floral and white stonefruited dry Albarino with fine textures and plenty of presence. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian fare over the next 3+ years. Hand-picked fruit from Doug and Delwyn Bell’s vineyard, vines planted in 2009, WBP and tank-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 4 g/L RS, TA 8.3 g/L and pH 3.27. 18.0/20 Feb 2016 RRP $22.00
