Bright, pale gold colour, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full with aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits with subtle tropical fruit notes, entwined with nutty oak, creamy barrel-ferment and nuances of butterscotch MLF. Medium-bodied, soft and light flavours of ripe citrus and tropical fruit form a rounded core that unfolds gently to fill the palate. The wine has creamy textures and butterscotch elements melded with nutty oak. Subtle textures and slippery, lacy acidity provide balance, and the wine flows to rounded finish with stonefruit and oak notes. This is a soft, rounded Chardonnay with light tropical fruit and nutty oak flavours, and a slippery, rounded mouthfeel. Match with poultry, pork and veal over the next 2-3+ years. Clone 15 fruit from Tolaga Bay, barrel-fermented in 50% new oak to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 9 months in barrel with 70% MLF. 16.5/20 Jan 2016 RRP $20.00
