Coney ‘Ragtime’ Martinborough Riesling 2011

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 26-Jun-2013
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on edge. The nose is delicately detailed with subtly exotic lime and floral aromas, along with a little talc botrytis and nuances of honey and toast in support. Medium-dry to taste and light-bodied, moderately concentrated, light flavours of citrus fruits and honey are lifted by gently expressed exotic florals. A hint of toasty development unfolds in the glass. The mouthfeel is balanced with soft, lacy acidity and a light, textured line that leads to a crisp, dry finish. This is a gentle, softly honied, off-dry Riesling with delicate exotic flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with mild Asian cuisine over the next 3-4 years. The off-dry Riesling of Coney Wines, with the inclusion of 10-20% botrytised fruit, cool-fermented in tank to 12.0% alc. and 12 g/L rs. 16.5-/20 Jun 2013 RRP $23.00
