Conde de Valdemar Rioja Reserva 2007

Tempranillo from Spain
Review Date : 27-Sep-2015
Dark, deep hearted ruby-garnet red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The bouquet is elegantly expressed with blossoming, voluminous aromas of red berry fruits lifted by ethereal red florals, unfolding complexing earth, spices, savoury herbs and undergrowth with sweet vanilla oak layers. This is harmonious interwoven and integrated in expression. Medium-full bodied and elegant in proportion with an ethereal flow of flavours, this has a tight core of red fruits, florals, savoury earth and spices, with integrated, sweet oak. The mouthfeel is refined and fine-grained, supple tannins support the fruit. The wine features fresh, lacy acidity, and the wine carries to an elegant, sustained finish. This is an elegant Rioja Reserva that is harmoniously presented with ethereal detail and freshness. Drink over the next 7-8+ years. 90% Tempranillo and 5% each Mazuelo and Graciano fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 22 months in American and French oak barrels. 18.0+/20 Sep 2015 RRP $N/A
