Comte Armand Auxey-Duresses 2009

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 20-Sep-2012
From a site with 40 y.o. vines. Bright ruby-red colour, lighter on rim. This has a soft, full nose with savoury, funky red berry fruit marked by layers of dark herbs and stalk-influenced aromas. Medium-full bodied, mouthfilling and robustly rich flavours of dark berry fruits spices, savoury herbs and stems are up-front and are the feature on the palate. The wine has a moderately firm tannin grip in support which builds and leads to a grainy, dry finish with herbal nuances lingering. While well-fruited and flavoursome, this has a rusticity with its savoury and herb-stalk expression. 17.5-/20 Sep 2012 RRP $N/A
