Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues. The nose is fresh, light and tightly-bound with pure aromas of limes and lemons entwined with apples and white florals, and thirst-quenching wet-stone minerally notes that grow in volume with aeration. Off-dry to taste, racy and lush mineral, apple and lime fruit flavours flow with plenty of energy and liveliness. The mouthfeel is bright and tight with underlying slippery acidity and the palate features a fine-textured phenolic line that provides a drying balance. The phenolics become more prominent and lead to a mouth-wateringly dry, textural finish with apple and mineral nuances. This is a racy, textural, off-dry Riesling with tight, mouthwatering lime, apple and minerally flavours which will develop greater complexities over the next 5-6 years. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood. A collaboration between Jeff Poole and Matt Dicey. Fruit from the Cromwell Basin, fermented to 11.5% alc. and 24 g/L RS, with TA 9.3 g/L and pH 2.8. 112 cases made. 17.5-/20 May 2014 RRP $19.99
