Collaboration Series Central Otago Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 10-Oct-2015
Even ruby-red colour with lighter garnet hues on the edge. The nose is light with fresh and well-proportioned aromas of dark cherry and berry fruit entwined with subtle thyme herb notes. The aromatics build in intensity, revealing nuance of raspberry liqueur. Medium-bodied, light, but vibrant fruit flavours of dark-red cherries intermingle with thyme herb elements and are lifted by dark red florals. The palate has sweetness and vitality, and the mouthfeel balanced by soft, supple tannin extraction and textures. This is quite accessible and open, the wine refreshing and easy flowing with light, lacy acidity. The wine carries through to an elegant, fruit-driven finish of dark red berry fruits. This is an elegant and vibrant, sweet cherry and raspberry-fruited Pinot Noir with supple tannins. Match with duck and pork, and with Asian fare over the next 3-4+ years. Pinot Noir from the Cromwell Basin, destemmed and fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine on skins 26 days and aged 10 months in French oak. 17.5-/20 Oct 2015 RRP $21.99
