Codorniu ‘Seleccion Raventos’ Cava Metode Tradicional Brut NV

Sparkling Wine from Spain
Review Date : 06-Apr-2015
Bright straw-yellow colour with light green-gold hues, lighter on edge, the bubbles very fine with only a modest persistence. The bouquet is very fresh and tight, with light aromas of white stonefruits and subtle nutty elements, along with delicate, mouthwatering mineral and steely nuances. This is refreshing and has clarity. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, tightly bound and elegantly expressed flavours of stonefruits, nuts and minerals feature on the palate. Fine-textured phenolics and crisp, lacy acidity lend the wine a thirst-quenching dryness to balance the creamy effervescence. The wine has energy, tension and linearity, finishing with sustained white stonefruit, floral and nutty flavours. This is a crisp, tightly bound, refreshing Cava to serve as an aperitif over the next 2 years. 50% Chardonnay from D.O. Cava Lleida, and 50% Xarel-lo and Macabeo from the Penedes, fermented to 11.5% alc. and 8-10 g/L dosage, the wine aged 12 months on lees. 17.0+/20 Apr 2015 RRP $31.99
