Codorniu ‘Cuvee Barcelona 1872’ Cava Metode Tradicional Brut Rosé NV

Sparkling Wine from Spain
Review Date : 10-Oct-2015
A blend of red varietals fermented to 12.0% alc., the wine spending 9 months on lees and bottled with 11 g/L dosage. Bright, deep, light peachy-red with purple-pink hues on the rim, the bubbles very persistent and fine. The bouquet is bright and fresh with light red cherry and berry fruit aromas lifted by red florals. Delicate nutty, herbal and raspberry fruit elements unfold to enrich the aromatics, but are balanced by steely hints. Off-dry to taste, light, sweet berry fruit flavours and floral notes feature on the palate. This is fruit-focussed, up-front and uncomplicated. The mouthfeel is soft with a modest effervescence and mousse, and the flavours flow easily, receding to a light, dry finish. This is a light red-fruited Rosé Cava with subtly sweet fruit and a clean, dry finish. Serve as an aperitif and with antipasto over the next 2 years. 16.0+/20 Oct 2015 RRP $29.99
