Codorniu Cava Clasico Metode Tradicional Brut NV

Sparkling Wine from Spain
Review Date : 22-Feb-2014
Bright, light golden-hued straw-yellow colour, the bead very persistent and fine. The nose is full and voluminous with gentle, earth-imbued white and yellow stonefruit aromas along with nuances of wax and minerals. The yeast autolysis is very subtle. Dryish to taste, the mouthfeel is fulsome and robust with strong effervescence and open bubbles, showing upfront stonefruit, earth and waxy fruit flavours. The acidity is lively and a grainy texture line underscores the palate. The wine carries with plenty of energy to a clean, soft-textured finish. This is an up-front and robust Cava with clean and straightforward fruitiness. Serve as an aperitif and with canapés over the next 2 years. Macabeo, Xarel.lo and Parellada fermented to 11.5% alc. with 10 g/L dosage, the wine aged 9 months on lees. 16.5+/20 Feb 2014 RRP $24.95
