Coal Pit Pinot Noir Rosé 2020, Central Otago

Rosé from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 06-Nov-2020
Brilliant, salmon-pink with a rose-gold hue, even throughout. Bright and fresh nose of well-packed nuances of fresh strawberries, cherries, melded with subtle herbs and pepper berries. Medium-light bodied, dry to taste, the freshness of strawberries and cherries rushing through, along with poached rhubarb with supporting acidity. The fruit is succulent with lively acidity, refreshing to taste. Subtleties of green herbs and pepper berries amplified on the palate added depth, linger to a dry and thirst-quenching finish. The wine has an exquisite, pure fine-textured line, complimenting the pristine primary fruit characters. This is an elegant, dry Pinot Noir rosé with flavours of strawberries, cherries enlivened by fresh herbs and pepper berries details on a fine-textured palate. Match with salmon gravlax and beetroot salad over the next 2 years. The fruit is from Gibbston sub-region, young vines, fermented in stainless steel to 13.5% alc, 2 g/l RS. 418 cases produced. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Nov 2020 RRP $31
