Coal Pit Central Otago Pinot Noir Rosé 2017

Rose from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 09-Nov-2017
Bright, very pale candy-floss pink with some depth, lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh and fragrant with elegant aromas of strawberries and cream, red florals and notes of confectionary. The aromatics are softly concentrated and have good density and proportion. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has a rich and well-concentrated core of strawberries and cream, red florals and lifted confectionary nuances. The mouthfeel is bright and lively with fresh acidity and a fine phenolic line providing thirst-quenching textures. The wine carries with good energy, leading to a light, lingering finish of florals and confectionary. This is a bright, lively, fragrant dry rosé with flavours of strawberries and cream, florals and confectionary on a mouthwatering, fine-textured palate. Serve as an aperitif, with canapés and Asian cuisine over the next 2 years. Hand-picked Pinot Noir fruit given up to 5 hours skin contact and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 3.3 g/L RS, the wine given extended lees contact. 18.0/20 Nov 2017 RRP $26.95
