Cloudy Bay ‘Te Koko’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2008

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 20-Oct-2011
Sauvignon Blanc from five sites in the Brancott, Rapaura and Renwick sub-regions, fermented in French oak, less than 10% new, by indigenous yeasts to 13.5% alc., followed by MLF and maturation in barrel for 16 months on lees. Full, soft straw-golden yellow in colour, pale on edge, the nose is full and complex, showing an amalgam of ripe yellow stonefruits and nectarines with nutty notes and hints of oak toast and smoke and flint. Dry and full-bodied, this is concentrated and packed with dense flavours of ripe stonefruits, nectarines, herbs and subtle toasty-nutty elements. This is a bold in mouthfeel and firm in depth with a fine, grainy texture, providing a substantial line through the palate. The finish is long and sustained with nuances of herbs, nuts and minerals, and is crisp and dry. A sophisticated match with firm-flesh seafood, poultry, pork and veal over the next 3-5 years. 18.5+/20 Oct 2011 RRP $49.90
