Cloudy Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 28-Sep-2012
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The nose is full and voluminous, quite complete, with aromas of passionfruit, fresh herbs, gooseberries interwoven harmoniously and deeply concentrated. Dry to taste, subtly rich flavours of passionfruit and limes form an excellent core to the palate. The acidity is in beautiful balance and the flavours flow seamlessly, but with real energy and liveliness. Smooth and softly mouthfilling, with depth and presence, there is nothing out of place, and the wine has a long bright and crisp finish featuring tropical fruit nuances. This is a richly pungent and seamless Sauvignon Blanc to match with seafood, poultry and soft cheeses over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the Rapaura, Fairhall, Renwick and Brancott sub-regions, fermented in stainless-steel with a small portion in seasond French barriques to 13.5% alc. 19.0/20 Sep 2012 RRP $29.90
