Cloudy Bay Marlborough Riesling 2010

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 20-Mar-2012
Brilliant straw-yellow with pale green hues. This has a fresh, intense nose of limes, florals and minerals with savoury honeysuckle aromas adding interest. Medium-dry to medium in sweetness, this is gentle in expression with flavours of limes, white florals and honeysuckle, the sweetness adding a richness to the mouthfeel, but well-cut by good acid raciness. This has a good balance with excellent tension and liveliness, with some resultant ‘sweet and sour' nuances providing a layer of flavour interest. The wine finishes with bright acid freshness and sustained lime and honey flavours. This is an elegant, medium Riesling with bright fruit and subtle complexities. Match with Asian seafood and poultry dishes over the next 4-5+ years. Fruit from sites in the Southern Valleys, hand-picked WBP and indigenous yeast fermented in seasoned oak to 10.7% alc. and 27.6 g/L rs, with a pH of 2.9 and TA of 8.72 g/L. 18.0+/20 Mar 2012 RRP $29.90
