Cloudy Bay Marlborough Late Harvest Riesling 2007

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 20-Mar-2012
Full, even golden-yellow colour. Richly concentrated and packed aromas of apricots, honey, marmalade and floral notes show extensive botrytis, the bouquet complex and integrated with notes of citrus and toast emerging in glass. Very sweet, soft, lush and decadent, rich flavours of apricots and honey flow across and fill the palate. This is lusciously smooth, harmonious and unctuous, with underlying acidity providing good lacy freshness and balance. The wine has a very long, rich finish with gentle waves of honeycomb and toast. This is a decadently rich and softly fresh dessert wine that can be served with crème caramel, fuit puddings and blue cheeses over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from the Southern Valleys, hand-picked with only a small portion unbotrytised, fermented in stainless-steel to 10.5% alc., and 133 g/L rs, the wine spending 8 months on lees in seasoned French oak.
