Clos St William Waipara Riesling 2011

Riesling from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 16-Mar-2012
Bright, pale straw-yellow with slight green hues to the colour. This has a very fresh, fermentation esters lifted nose of limes, exotic jasmine florals and perfumed talc with steel and minerals. Medium-dry to taste, this has an elegant palate with lifted and exotic floral flavours with notes of honey and talc. There is a delicacy, also with the lacy acidity, which allows the fruit and sweetness feature on mid-palate. Moderately sustained flavours of citrus fruits and sherbet are carried on the finish. This is an elegant, aromatic and perfumed Riesling that is still youthful and lifted. It should drink well with Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from the ‘Clos St William' vineyard indigenous yeast fermented to 11.2% alc. and 18.8 g/L rs. 220 cases made 17.0+/20 Mar 2012 RRP $21.95
