Clos Henri Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Mar-2012
Brilliant, even straw-yellow colour, pale on rim. Full, deep and layered aromas of ripe gooseberries and subtle ppassionfruit notes show with herbs and citrus zest and some flinty lees, the bouquet almost brooding. Dry with good weight and presence, the palate subtly builds with flavours of gooseberries, stonefruits and limes to become mouthfilling. Soft in texture, yet with fine, crisp acidity, the weight and fruit extract is clear. The finish is crisp, dry and with good length. A youthfully restrained Sauvignon Blanc with considerable weight and subtle presence that will match seafood and poultry over the next 3-4 years. Sauvignon Blanc from 85% Greywacke riverbed and 15% Broadbridge clay soils, fermented in stainless-steel, with 5% in old French oak barrels to 13.5% alc. The wine was aged 8 months on lees with batonnage. 18.0+/20 Mar 2012 RRP $29.80
