Clos Henri Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2009

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Feb-2011
Brilliant straw-yellow in colour, this has a very youthful, tightly bound bouquet of herbs, gooseberries, steel and minerals, quite piquant and piercing, allied to ripe yellow capsicum nuances. On palate this is dry and exceptionally fine-featured, with elegant and tightly bound English gooseberry, herb and mineral flavours. The acidity provides finesse and cut, adding an edge of purity to the expression. The finish is ling and possesses subtle nuances. A refined Sauvignon Blanc to grace the dinner table, matching shellfish and fine seafood dishes over the next 4-5 years. Based on 75% Greywacke riverbed gravels and 25% Broadbridge clay fruit, fermented to 13.5% alc., 8% in seasoned 300L French oak, the remainder in stainless-steel, aged 8 months on fine lees. 19.0-/20 Jan 2011 RRP $29.50
