Clifford Bay Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Oct-2014
60% Wairau Valley and 40% Awatere Valley fruit, cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and 4.5 g/L RS. Full, bright straw-yellow colour with light green hues. This has a light nose of fresh gooseberries and herbs intermixed with cooler spectrum cut grass, nettle-like aromas, along with chalky minerals, typical of the Awatere. Dry to taste and medium-light bodied, the palate features a soft and light core of passionfruit flavours with grassy, nettle-like notes. The fruit grows in richness through mid-palate showing good vinosity and mouthfeel, with balanced acid background. The wine flows gently to a light, dry finish. This light Sauvignon Blanc shows cooler Awatere aromas, but grows in richness and weight on the palate. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood or tapas over the next 2 years. 16.5+/20 Oct 2014 RRP $15.00
