Clearwater Cove Awatere Valley Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Aug-2014
Brilliant pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. The nose is softly aromatic with light, uncomplicated aromas of exotic florals, pear fruit and honeysuckle that grow to show some depth with aeration. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, light fruit flavours of white stonefruits, pears and delicate herbs are lifted by floral elements. The fruit is clean and softly presented, forming a rounded mouthfeel. Mouthwatering acidity keeps the palate fresh and a subtle textured thread carries the wine to a delicate, dry finish. This is a light, soft and dry Pinot Gris with some floral and pear flavours. Serve as an aperitif, with poultry and with Asian fare over the next 2 years. A blend from five parcels of fruit, each cool-fermented in stainless-steel, the wine at 13.0% alc. and 4.0 g/L RS. 16.5-/20 Aug 2014 RRP $12.99
