Clearview ‘Reserve’ Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2009

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 06-Feb-2011
Clearview ‘Reserve' Hawke's Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2009 (17.5+/20), a statement wine made by fermentation in seasoned oak with some wild yeasts, partial MLF and given lees and oak maturation. This has powerful and intense lime-herb aromas and flavours sitting alongside spicy oak. There is plenty of alcoholic strength at 14.5%, and ensuing body, but there is good crispness and freshness as well. If you can handle the oakiness, match it with full-flavoured, herb-marinated white meat dishes over the next 3-5 years.  Jan 2010
