Clearview ‘Coastal’ Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2018

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 25-Jan-2019
Brilliant, light straw-yellow colour, lighter on the rim. The nose is elegantly presented with fresh and gently full aromas of fragrant, exotic white and yellow florals along with lifted pear fruit, hints of nuts and sweet lifted elements, unfolding nuances of saline mineral elements. Dryish to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate is gently rich , lush and rounded with flavours of ripe pear fruit along with fragrant white and yellow florals with hints of honey and nuances of saline and minerals. The palate is rounded with some underlying alcoholic drive and balanced soft acidity. The wine flows along a rounded, luscious line and carries to a lingering finish with richness and sweetness. This is a rich, rounded and lush off-dry Pinot Gris with fragrant pear and floral fruit with notes of honey and minerals on a palate with drive and soft acidity. Match with Asian fare over the next 3 years. Fruit from Porangahau, WBP and tank-fermented to 13.7% alc. and 4.1 g/L RS, the wine undergoing batonnage but no MLF. 18.0+/20 Jan 2019 RRP $21.00
