Clearview ‘Coastal’ Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2016

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 05-Mar-2017
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with light golden hues and some depth, lighter edged. The nose is fresh with penetrating aromas of white stonefruits and white florals, entwined with subtle and delicate notes of nutty lees and minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses lively and vibrant flavours of white stonefruits and white florals with subtle nutty notes adding interest. The palate is elegantly concentrated with a well-driven core and line, with fresh acidity enlivening the mouthfeel. The wine carries with good energy and linearity to a clear, crisp, stonefruity finish. This is a crisp, elegantly concentrated Chardonnay with white stonefruit and subtle lees elements, and a refreshing mouthfeel. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 3+ years. Te Awanga fruit fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and 3 g/L RS, the wine aged 5 months on lees in the ‘Reserve’ Chardonnay barrels with batonnage and 100% MLF. 17.5/20 Mar 2017 RRP $19.95
