Clark Estate ‘Winemaker’s Reserve’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 03-Oct-2013
Cool-fermented in tank, with a small portion undergoing indigenous ferment in barrel to 13.8% alc. and 2.0 g/L RS. Bright, even, very pale straw-yellow colour with light green hues. This has a fresh, elegant and tightly bound nose with refined and subtly entwined aromas of gooseberries, herbs, green apples and flinty minerals. Dry to taste and finely presented, restrained flavours of gooseberries and minerals form a very fine textured core and mouthfeel. The palate is well-balanced with good tension, providing linear drive and the delicate flavours flow smoothly. The wine grows in richness and the flavours are carried to a long, nuanced finish. This is an elegant and fine Sauvignon Blanc with a harmonious mouthfeel and subtle flavours. Match with seafood and Asian fare over the next 2+ years. 17.5+/20 Oct 2013 RRP $28.00
