Clark Estate Upper Awatere Marlborough Riesling 2013

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 03-Oct-2013
Very pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. The bouquet is very subtle and delicate with pure aromas of white florals and nuances of honeysuckle, entwined with apple and mineral nuances, lifted by residual fermentation esters. Medium-dry to medium in taste, delicately concentrated flavours of florals and honey form a soft textured and fine-featured palate. The mouthfeel is rounded, with an underlying ripe acid drive and line. This has lively tension balanced with richness, and the flavours flow effortlessly to a long, nuanced, moderately dry finish. This is a beautifully subtle medium Riesling with floral and honied flavours and soft mouthfeel. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian cuisine over the next 5+ years. Fruit from 0.8 ha, cool-fermented in tank to 11.48% alc. and 21 g/L RS. 18.0+/20 Oct 2013 RRP $24.00
