Clark Estate Upper Awatere Marlborough Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Mar-2013
Bright straw-yellow colour with a suggestion of blush and golden tints, lighter on rim. The nose is delicate and light with fresh, clean and pure aromas of white and yellow stonefruits, revealing hints of honeysuckle and spice, savoury pear fruit. Dryish to taste and light-bodied, subtle flavours of pears and yellow stonefruits show with mineral, nutty and flinty detail and nuances. The fruit is accessible with good freshness and youthful lift. Light, fine textures lead the aromatic fruit to a light finish. This is a light-weighted, gentle Pinot Gris with soft pear-like fruit. Serve as an aperitif and with mild first courses over the next 2-3 years. Stainless-steel fermented and aged on lees 3 with, with 15% indigenous yeast fermented and undergoing MLF. The wine is 12.5% alc. and 7.3 g/L rs. 16.0+/20 Mar 2013 RRP $22.00
