Clark Estate ‘Single Vineyard’ Awatere Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Oct-2014
Brilliant pale straw colour with slight green hues, lighter on edge. The nose is elegant and refined with intense, tightly bound aromas of pungent passionfruit and nuances of tropical fruits, revealing classical Awatere grassy and nettle notes with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, this has a good core of passionfruit flavours entwined with piquant herb and grassy nuances, the fruit showing sweetness, enlivened by fresh, lacy acidity. The mouthfeel is lively and vibrant and the phenolic handling is fine, allowing the juiciness feature. The wine carries to an elegant and slender, moderately concentrated finish. This is a bright, lusciously juicy, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with some elegance. Serve with salads and vegetables, and Asian cuisine over the next 2 years. Awatere Valley fruit cool-fermented in tank to 12.7% alc. and 1.63 g/L RS. 17.5/20 Oct 2014 RRP $24.95
