Clark Estate ‘Single Vineyard’ Awatere Valley Marlborough Riesling 2011

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 01-Apr-2012
Bright pale straw colour, near colourless on rim. This is very elegant and tightly bound on bouquet, with penetrating, clearly defined and pure lime and lemon fruit aromas along with notes of minerals. Dryish to taste, this is beautifully refined and delicate with elegant flavours of lime, lemon and white florals, showing a deliciously subtle sweetness and richness. Lacy acidity and very fine textures form a discreet line through the palate, carrying through to a long and sustained, nuanced finish. Fermented to 11.5% alc. and 16.3 g/L rs, a pH 3.2 and TA 6.5 g/L. The wine was given some lees contact. This is a Riesling of finesse and purity, with delicate, luscious floral and citrus flavours. Serve as an aperitif over the next 5-6 years. 19.0-/20 Apr 2012 RRP $28.00
