Clark Estate ‘Single Vineyard’ Awatere Valley Marlborough Pinot Gris 2011

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 01-Apr-2012
Pinot Gris fermented to 13.1% alc. and 5.53 g/L rs, with 12% undergoing barrel fermentation, the wine aged on lees for 3 months. Bright straw-yellow colour with a light green hue, pale on edge. The bouquet is full, intense and firmly concentrated with aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits unfolding layers of exotic florals, spice, minerals and flinty lees. Dryish, this possesses a harmonious and well-proportioned palate that is gently mouthfilling, building with weight and depth, and finely textured. Flavours of yellow stonefruits, florals honey and minerals gently intermingle, and excellent acid tension gives palate freshness leading to a crisp, long finish with delicately sweet, honied notes. This Pinot Gris is one of elegance and finesse. Serve with seafood and poultry over the next 3-4+ years. 18.5-/20 Apr 2012 RRP $23.50
