Botrytised Pinot Gris fruit fermented in stainless-steel, with a small portion of the normal Pinot Gris wine blended after, resulting in 11.23% alc. and 150 g/L RS. Bright, light, golden-yellow colour, lighter on rim. The bouquet is voluminous and densely packed with aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits, wild honey, nuts and caramel, with layers of dried fruits and marmalade becoming revealed. Very sweet, flavours of ripe stonefruits, citrus fruit, honey and marmalade show with presence and weight. Nuts and caramel elements add to the interest. The palate is near unctuous and rounded in mouthfeel, with a luscious richness. The flavours are guided by a soft acid drive and background textures, the phenolics extremely well-handled. The sweetness is a feature on the finish with lingering notes of wild honey and nuts. This botrytised sweet Pinot Gris has subtle flavours, but a near-unctuous, rich mouthfeel.
