Clark Estate Clericus Ferox Pinot Gris MMXXII 2022, Marlborough

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 27-Feb-2023
Bright, even, pale gold-yellow with depth. The nose is gently full and complex with aromas of flint, spice and a dash of honey melded with quince, pear and white floral. Medium-bodied, off-dry to taste, aromas of quince paste, pear entwined with white lily, honey, a hint of flint and spice. The sweetness enriches the wine with weight and mouthfeel, and it is balanced by lively acidity and leaves a refreshing, dry finish. This off-dry Pinot Gris is flavoursome and rich with excellent balance and complexities. Match with spicy Asain fare and duck rillette over the next 3-4 years. Fermented with indigenous yeast and aged in oak on lees. 12.5% alc, 15 g/l RS. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Feb 20223 RRP $35
