Made in the Mosel spatlese style. Fruit from the 1.0 ha ‘Block 8’ section, cool-fermented to 8.0% alc. and 59 g/L RS, the wine aged 5 months on lees. Bright, even, pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. The bouquet is restrained with pure aromas of savoury white florals and minerals, along with nuances of herbs, nuts and toasty secondary development. Medium sweet to taste, delicately harmonious and integrated flavours of white florals, honey and nuts meld with toasty notes. This has a fine core and line with soft, refined textures and a smooth mouthfeel. Gentle acidity, with a suggestion of sweet and sour, underlines the palate and leads to a off-dry finish. This is a soft and integrated medium Riesling of delicacy just beginning to show some secondary toast nuances. The bouquet is fresh and penetrating with aromas of white florals, lime fruit, fresh herbs and a sweet and sour, nuttiness. Medium-sweet to sweet in taste and light-bodied, fine, tightly bound and elegantly proportioned flavours of limes, florals, honeysuckle and herbs are complexed by a savoury nutty element. The palate is rich, lush and succulent with racy acidity, and the mouthfeel is lively and slippery. The acidity carries the fruit to a moderately long and softly luscious, delicately nuanced finish. This is a racy, sweeter Riesling with distinctive lime, herb and honied flavours and a savoury twist.
