Clarendelle Bordeaux Rouge 2012

Blended Red from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 22-Feb-2017
Full, dark, near impenetrable black-red colour with slight garnet tints on the edge. This has a softly full and gently voluminous nose with packed aromas of ripe black plums and blackberry fruits harmoniously melded with a subtle layering of blackcurrants and herbs unfolding violet and black floral nuances. The aromatics are refined and integrated. Medium-full bodied, the palate is elegantly proportioned with moderately rich flavours of black plums and blackberry fruit intermingling with notes of blackcurrants, herbs and earth, unveiling lifted black floral nuances. The fruit is underlined by smooth, velvety tannin extraction that builds in grip. The wine flows seamlessly along the fine-textured line, with soft acidity enhancing the smoothness. The structure carries the flavours to an elegant finish. This is an elegant, refined and velvety Merlot-based Bordeaux red with black plum and berry fruit flavours and a smooth line. Serve with lamb and beef, and semi-hard cheeses over the next 5-6+ years. A blend of 57% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Cabernet Franc, fermented to 13.5% alc. 18.0-/20 Feb 2017 RRP $24.99
