Cirro Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 12-Oct-2014
Bright, very pale straw colour, lighter on rim. The nose is bright with fresh and mouthwatering gooseberry fruit aromas along with herb, flint and mineral nuances at the core. The aromas open easily showing lively grassy and savoury stonefruit hints. Dry to taste and light bodied, soft, luscious citrus and tropical fruit flavours gently unfold and flow smoothly across the palate. The mouthfeel is easy and even with a little depth and mouthwatering acid zestiness providing linearity. The wine carries through to a light, dry, passionfruity finish. This is an attractively light and accessible, easy flowing Sauvignon Blanc with some lusciousness. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian cuisine over the next 2 years. Sauvignon Blanc from the lower and mid-Wairau with Waihopai fruit, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 5.9 g/L RS, the wine aged 4 months on lees. 16.5+/20 Oct 2014 RRP $22.99
