Cirro Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 31-Dec-2013
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on rim. The nose is fresh and elegant in expression with aromatic passionfruit and gooseberry notes, lifted by sweet herbs, the bouquet opening in volume in the glass. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, fresh and delightfully lifted tropical fruit flavours are entwined with gooseberries, passionfruit and herbs. The fruit has sweetness and lusciousness, enhanced by crisp, racy acidity that lends a zing to the mouthfeel. The lively palate flows to a bright and juicy finish. This is a bright, juicy and mouth-wateringly crisp Sauvignon Blanc with tropical fruit and gooseberry flavours. Serve with seafood and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the lower and mid-Wairau Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.7% alc. and 4.1 g/L RS, the wine given lees contact. 17.5-/20 Jan 2014 RRP $22.99
