Cirro Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Oct-2012
Brilliant, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. The nose is elegantly intense, with soft pungent passionfruit and gooseberry aromas alongside lifted white florals and fermentation esters. Dry to taste and elegantly proportioned, gentle passionfruit flavours are interwoven with gooseberries and elderflowers. The palate is soft-textured with a delicate lusciousness, enlivened by lacy, zesty acidity forming a fine core with some drive and line. The fruit blossoms with an ethereal lift on the finish, with lingering passionfruit and white floral flavours. This is a soft textured, delicate passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with a subtle richness. Serve with Thai, Japanese and Thai cuisine over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Lower and mid-Wairau Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.7% alc. and 3.1 g/L rs, the wine given some lees contact. 17.5/20 Oct 2012 RRP $22.99
