Cirro Marlborough Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-Feb-2013
Mid-Wairau Valley fruit from 10 y.o. vines, fully destemmed, given a cold soak and fermented to 13.1% alc., the wine aged 18 months in seasoned French oak barrels. Moderately deep and dark ruby-red colour with some garnet hues on edge. This has a full, broad and up-front nose with aromas of savoury red berry fruits along with hints of cedar, game and mushrooms from secondary development. The bouquet has good depth and solid intensity. Medium-full bodied, soft and mouthfilling flavours of dark red berry fruits are intermixed with game, cedar and mushroomy notes. Lifted spices and wood nuances add to the detail and interest. The flavours are framed by soft tannin structure, and low acidity that provides a rounded, near robust texture. The finish is gently lingering. This is a fulsome and broad, mouthfilling Pinot Noir with savoury development. Serve with Middle Eastern and Mediterranean fare over the next 4+ years. 17.0+/20 Feb 2013 RRP $26.99
