Cirro Marlborough Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 31-Dec-2013
Fruit from the mid-Wairau Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.7% alc. and 5.3 g/L RS, the wine given lees contact. Bright, soft straw-yellow colour with a suggestion of blush, pale on rim. This has a light, fresh, straightforward and clean nose of white stonefruits, pears, and a herbal-mineral amalgam. Off-dry to taste and light-bodied, gently luscious fruit flavours of tropical fruits and stonefruits show with a floral lift and minerally nuance. The mouthfeel is even and balanced with the fruit sweetness countered by fine textures. Crisp, racy acidity features, adding brightness, carrying the fine, drying textures to a light, minerally finish. This is a light, minerally and mouthwatering, off-dry Pinot Gris with some lusciousness. Serve with antipasto and with lightly spiced Asian dishes over the next 3 years. 16.5+/20 Jan 2014 RRP $22.99
